Amazon kindle fire HDX 8.9in- I'm back!

Well after a looong break I'm back with a new review.

The Amazon kindle HDX is a really great tablet featuring nearly two inches of extra screen size(8.9), Amazon support and  8mp camera.

The lack of a google playstore  is quite limiting, you do however get the Amazon app store but is it really enough?

The price of Amazon prime is going to be raised by $20 after March bringing the yearly cost up to $99 but that isn't that much of a stretch considering netflix can set you back $107.8 a year (because of the recent raise in subscription costs).  with an Amazon prime membership you get: rental of books from a huge selection, free tv shows and movies.
You need to decide if spending $99 a year is worth it.

Durability is something to think about during the purchase of a new tablet and the HDX does not do well at all as seen in the above video.

The Kindle has experienced vast changes.  Better screen, more accurate touches, button placement, size and weight.  Everything that's changed is an improvement.

The extra $200 cost over the the HD7 ($150 less than the ipad air) might cause you to rethink this kindle as your next tab but that's up to you.

Playstation 4

The the biggest sell point for the ps4 is it's $100 price advantage over the xbox one.

Most kids and collage students have limited resources and short attention spans so I think they will go with a product that they can buy faster and for less.   With the added advantage of the ps4s better graphics, more stylish design and free online play I think the majority will choose the ps4  (and remember the new controller! so awesome)

The PS4 packs a "lot" of power under the hood. The dimensions are 2 inches high by 11 inches wide by 12 inches deep, weigh is about 9 pounds, and packs 8GB of DDR5 RAM. The CPU is a low-power x86-64 "Jaguar" eight-core chip and the graphics are powered by a 1.84 TFLOP AMD Radeon "next engine."
With all of this in a slim package the PS4's specs are in line with a mid- to high-end gaming PC.

Ps4's controller is one hell of a feature packed monster, features include:  headphone jack, stereo audio, better analog sticks, ultra responsive touchpad and awesome handles.

The division, the graphics are amazing!

The main downer for the ps4 is the lack of backwards compatibility, you'd think with the power sony's placed in this machine it could run anything but it doesn't.  How does running a ps3 and 4 so you can play ps3 games sound? I thought so.

Steam os!

http://media4.steampowered.com/store/livingroom/atCJhXa17i/steamos_livingroom.jpg?v=1
The requirements are as follows 4-bit Intel or AMD-powered PC with at least 4GB RAM,  500GB or larger hard drive, and an Nvidia GPU. For saves a 4GB minimum USB is required.   My pc has 4gb ram, 250gb solid state and a 250gb seta drive and a 2gb Nvidia graphic card so no isue there.

The install took all I had when it came to installing so it would run (seriously hackers only!) subject to change before release of course.

Steam os is much the same as the application we've gotten to know so well, there are two differences that are quite nice, you won't have to go through windows and you won't have to worry about sharing your computers guts with windows, hooking a controller up is quite easy as well, I forgo to mention the dedicated web browser. It all looks like it's gonna be eye candy!

The future.  Steam plans to release an app for watching netflix, hulu and others also gaming support for linux will go from zero to hero (couldn't help myself).

So if you're thinking of building a new pc... although steam os may not be complete, it has some amazing potential like running on an android device and a flash drive with a screen but I'm not holding my breath.

Huwaei h883g Windows Phone

I have to start off by saying the Huwaei h883g is a great windows phone!

The screen itself is amazingly resilient.  So much so that when I accidentally dropped it on an concrete road (face down) it didn't get one scratch on the screen!

The camera is great, 5mgp is pretty good.  The front camera isn't that good it's only okay.
Performance: never stalls, simple to use operating system.

Over  all it's a decent phone even saying it's a major step in the right direction wouldn't be a lie.
One of the problems I Had was that my phone wasn't recognized by my computer, and there's was a nother problem with the battery when it ran out completely it had big problems charging up again, it had one other thing that I didn't like but it had nothing to do with the phone it was the store for apps didn't have too many good apps but since it's still some what a new system I'll give it some slack. So I think it's a pretty good phone, but that's for you too decide.

Apple ipad air- review

http://files.tested.com/photos/2013/11/14/55216-img_6536.jpg

The air is also the lightest Tab on the market at 1.05 lbs being a third lighter than it's closest weight competitor. The air is the perfect size for a tablet (9.4 x 6.6 x 0.29), big enough to watch but light and thin enough to be used without wrist strain.

Macbook air redefined laptops being the first ultrabook, I think it's a safe guess that the ipad air will redifine tablets.

The Air's 9.7 inch screen screams class with a 2048 x 1536 resolution and a 264 ppi.
The tashiba excite pro has more at 2560 x 1600 and a 300 ppi but it lacks the explosion of color of the Air.

Performance of the air  with the A7 installed the air is one of the fastest tabletsbeating every tablet at java, 3d, loading, closing apps and landscape orientation.  Because of this performance the air overheats after about 34min (doesn't slow it down but makes your palms and fingers sweaty.

The keyboard has not changed at all but it's still just as comfortable as other Ios devices, it would be a massive improvement if apple implemented finger swipe but it's good for now.

The speakers lack bass, I wish that the speakers were in the middle of the tablet rather than the right but it's fine unless you're watching a movie otherwise they are loud, accurate and clear.

The 5-MP rear camera is good but not great, details are important and although the camera pics up color well it lacks overall detail, the front camera doesn't have this problem but little specs of color windup in darker areas. The microphones work very well zoning in on conversation as opposed to ambiance.  The features you will miss will be the burst mode, panorama and flash.

The ipad air may be worth it's price but it's up to you if you want to spend 100 dollars more for a larger screen and longer battery life but if you do you will lose the stylus and remote that most cheaper tablets offer.
